The Eastern Nevada History series at the Wylder Hotel Hope Valley will continue on Sunday, December 11 with a living history presentation of Snowshoe Thompson.
Thompson was known as the Mailman of the Sierra as he carried the mail across the Sierra Nevada winter snows for 20 years. He would travel the 180-mile round trip in just five days on his hand-crafted snow skates (skis) with nothing more than a jacket, dried meat, matches, and his 80-pound bag of mail.
The program starts at 1 p.m., is free, open to the public, and is presented inside the Resort’s heated tent.
Wylder will also be offering a “History Program Lunch Special” in their Café during the program. Call David at (760) 920-8061 for more information.
