South Lake Tahoe City Council members JoAnn Conner and Hal Cole sworn in

The City South Lake Tahoe is pleased to announce that two councilmembers were sworn in and a new Mayor was voted in during today’s City Council meeting.

Hal Cole retained his City Council seat during the November 6th election and joining him is newly elected councilmember, JoAnn Conner. Both Cole and Conner will hold their seats in City Council through November 2016.

The newly seated Council voted by unanimous decision to elect Councilmembers Tom Davis as Mayor and Hal Cole as Mayor Pro Tem to serve a one year term in 2013.

“I look forward to serving as Mayor over the next year and I’m excited about the multiple projects we have going into the ground this upcoming year including the Harrison Avenue Streetscape improvement project, upgrades to Linear Park, the installation of sidewalks and lighting on Pioneer Trail, bike path re-surfacing, and the El Dorado Beach Improvement Boat Launch Restroom project,” said Mayor Davis.

Newly elected Councilmember Conner stated, “Today it really hits home how much I feel honored to represent the community and that I have been entrusted with their confidence and I’m really looking forward to serving on Council.”

A plaque of appreciation was presented to outgoing Councilmember Bruce Grego who thanked his colleagues for their support and stated that he “enjoyed the last four years and it has certainly been a life changing event and I will miss this Council and the things we’ve been working on.”
