Two-hour delay start to Lake Tahoe Unified Schools on Tuesday, 90-minute delay for Douglas

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The Lake Tahoe Unified School District (LTUSD) will be on a two-hour delayed start to school on Tuesday, December 13. Many families and staff have been without power for an extended period of time, and many are still shoveling snow to get out of their homes.

As a result of this storm, many are still dealing with the impacts of the snow, including downed trees and damage. LTUSD schools are experiencing similar impacts and could use the additional time to prepare for students.

If for any reason, families are unable to attend school, please communicate with your school when possible.

Over on the Nevada side, Douglas County School District will operate on a 90-minute delayed start at both Whittell High School and Zephyr Cove Elementary on Tuesday.

Buses will pick up at the regular bus stops Tuesday morning, but the buses will just arrive 90 minutes later.
