SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Wylder Hope Valley continues its Eastern Sierra History series with a Chautauqua presentation of George Whittell, The Accidental Conservationist on Monday, December 26 at 1 p.m.

Eastern Sierra historians David and Gayle Woodruff take on the characters of one of the wealthiest couples in the United States in the 1930s, who kept an African Lion for a pet, built one of the most beautiful pleasure crafts to navigate Lake Tahoe, entertained former presidents, and unintentionally conserved a large portion of Lake Tahoe lands for the public to enjoy today.

The 50-minute program is free and open to the public and will be at the Wylder General Store, located 1/10th of a mile east of Wylder Resort Hope Valley on CA Hwy 88, Hope Valley. Call David at 760 920-8061 for more information.
