Tahoe Chamber parts ways with executive director

STATELINE, Nev. - The Tahoe Chamber has parted ways with its executive director after two years. Mike Glover was terminated earlier this month by the Board.

His hiring in Tahoe was announced on December 8, 2021 after the interim Director Steve Teshara announced his retirement. Teshara had been at the helm since the board accepted the resignation of Craig Schmit in 2017 after he'd been on the job 90 days.

Glover has been the executive director of the Hood River County Chamber of Commerce for six years before being terminated and then hired at Lake Tahoe.

"As of December 12, 2023, Mike Glover, executive director, is no longer with the Tahoe Chamber," said Chris Proctor, Tahoe Chamber Board chairperson, in an internal memo. "The Board of Directors extends its gratitude to Mr. Glover for his contributions at the Tahoe Chamber during his tenure."

According to the memo, the six-person executive committee of the Board of Directors will assume responsibility for core Chamber functions and convene a community stakeholder group to assist in navigating the transition.

The Board will start a comprehensive search for a new executive director and continue their work on a strategic plan that will position the Tahoe Chamber as a valuable resource for local businesses.

"The Tahoe Chamber expresses its gratitude to Mr. Glover and wishes him continued success in his future endeavors," said Proctor.
