Meyers man severely beaten in Christmas Eve attack

MEYERS, Calif. - A Christmas Valley man was attacked in his driveway by an unknown person late Christmas Eve as he sat in his car.

At 11:00 p.m., deputies from the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office (EDSO) responded to the home in the area of Saint Nick Way. They found the victim with serious injuries and he was transported to Barton Hospital, and later transferred to Renown Medical Center in Reno via medical helicopter.

EDSO reports the suspect has been described as a white adult man, 6 feet tall weighing about 200 pounds, with grey hair and a grey beard.

This is an active investigation and no other information is available at this time.

According to the victim's son, the man was attacked for unknown reasons with a Maglite flashlight. On Friday morning, the son said his dad is doing better but still in the ICU in Reno with broken bones and head trauma.

At this time the family is considering a Go Fund Me page to help with expenses, but nothing has been created.
