Ringing in the new year on Lake Tahoe South Shore

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - If going out on the town is part of your plans for New Year's Eve, there are a few ways to celebrate in South Lake Tahoe and Stateline.

Heavenly Holidays continues at the Village with Ferris Wheel rides through December 31, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Admission: $5. It is located at the base of the Gondola. Enjoy the most spectacular views of the lake by day and the village, twinkling with tons of lights, by night. The photo opportunities are unrivaled, except for the memories made upon our gigantic Ferris wheel.

Ring in the new year with friends and family with a spectacular firework show and gondola drop coordinated with the midnight ball drop in New York City’s Times Square at 9 p.m. our time on the West Coast on December 31, 2023. Admission is free. Don’t miss the most spectacular fireworks display ever to hit Heavenly Village. We are stepping it up again! Rung in by a special guest, the top of the parking garage will be lit up like never before. Not to be missed. Live music on Sunday starting at 5 p.m. Live DJ 5-7 p.m., the Decades Band from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., and from 8:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m., the Kristen Brown Band (from NBC’s The Voice).

Ring in 2024 under the stars with the scenic views of Lake Tahoe on the M.S. Dixie II, leaving from Zephyr Cove. On Sunday, December 31, embark on the New Year’s Eve three-hour cruise starting at 6:30 p.m. to soak in the surrounding Emerald Bay, enjoy a three-course meal, live music with dancing, participate in the traditional (eastern-time) countdown, and commemorate the evening with a champagne toast. The Loft Lounge will be transformed into the New Year’s Eve dance party headquarters in the Heavenly Village. The soiree will feature an open bar from 9:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., music from DJ/Producer Groove Cartel, and a midnight champagne toast. The party starts at 9:30 p.m. and goes until 2 a.m. General Admission tickets are $100 (+tax/fees). General Admission tickets are standing room only. Very limited seating. There will be fireworks in front of the Golden Nugget at Stateline at midnight. VIP seating will be on the Alpine Union Patio with seating starting at 9 p.m. Tickets are $100 and can be purchased HERE.

The Golden Nugget is also holding "Thunder Cover New Year's Eve Party" on December 31 in their showroom. Limited tickets are available for the event that starts at 9 p.m. $99. Thunder Cover hails from Sacramento & is one of Northern California’s most exciting & energetic live cover bands. Covering pop, rock, dance hits from the 1960’s to today. Edgewood Tahoe is holding a black tie Winter Wonderland Culinary Experience which includes a 7-course dinner with wine pairings. Purchase price is $595. Steamer's Bar & Grill is hosting "New Year's Rockin' Eve" starting at 7 p.m. Cash Only Band will be playing with two champagne toasts - New York's midnight (9 pm) and again at South Lake Tahoe's midnight.
