The South Lake Tahoe Library is hosting a virtual author talk with Kathryn "Kae" Reed on Wednesday, September 23 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.. She will be discussing her new book, Snowshoeing Around Lake Tahoe: Must-Do Scenic Treks.

Jennifer Quashnick is the local author of the Mountaingirl Mysteries series, in which Rachel Winters, a Lake Tahoe resident frequently accompanied by her dog Bella, finds herself embroiled in murder, mystery, and romance in the Tahoe Basin and beyond. The series begins with the Sierra Nevada Trail of Murder, where Rachel and Bella discover a murder victim along a local hiking trail. The series continues with Sierra Nevada River of Lies and Sierra Nevada Dangerous Developments.

Sunday Morning With a Local Author at Camp Richardson

South Lake Tahoe JoAnn Conner will be at Camp Richardson on March 11 at 11:00 a.m. for "Sunday Morning With a Local Author."

Conner, who has written two books will be giving an author talk and book signing.

The first, Heartwood, is historical fiction centered in 1867 Bridgeport, CA, but also adds historical bits about Carson City, Genoa, and Virginia City. Information about the everyday life is historically accurate.

Author JoAnn Conner Shares New Novel at SLT Library

The Friends of the Library present local author JoAnn Conner who will share the experience of getting her first book published. Conner's book, "Heartwood", is a work of historical fiction set in 1867 Bridgeport, California. The book tells the story of a young man who came west after the Civil War and stops in Bridgeport, where he buys an old ranch.Historical tidbits are laced through the story, with facts about Virginia City, Bodie, Genoa, and Carson City helping to build the tension to a surprise twist at the end. Books will be sold and signed at the event. Free and open to all.

About Being Homeless: Meet Blue at SLT Library

Join us for a talk with local author and poet, Blue Marie Balcita. Ms. Balcita was homeless on the streets of South Lake Tahoe at age thirteen. She is now a best-selling author, entrepreneur, and the Chief Sociology Analyst at The Analysis Project. She will be coming to the South Lake Tahoe Library to discuss her books, poetry, and the ordinary yet extraordinary madness of her life. Her books will be available for purchase. All proceeds benefit the Friends of the Library and the Tahoe Coalition for the Homeless. Open to all.
