SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - He was the star running back of Benicia High School before graduating in 2015. He led the Panthers with 901 rushing yards and 15 total touchdowns his senior year and was named their Most Valuable Offensive Player.

Less than one year later he was in South Lake Tahoe with a group of men accused of fatally shooting Dennis "Spike" Wright, Jr. over a drug deal at the Beverly Lodge.

Interim city manager selected for South Lake Tahoe

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - With the departure of City Manager Frank Rush looming and a search on for his replacement, the South Lake Tahoe City Council today hired an interim city manager.

During closed session they approved the hiring of Brad Kilger who brings with him years of experience to the position.

Kilger has over 40 years of professional municipal government experience.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - At 10:00 a.m. on September 13, 2015, Garden Valley Fire Department personnel responded to a wildland fire in the community of Greenwood in western El Dorado County, on Highway 193 between Cool and Georgetown. Upon arrival they found a residence still smoldering, but burned to the ground.

In the ashes were found the charred remains of Adam Buchanan, 38, his fiancée Molly McAffe, 37, and their 8-year-old son Gavin Buchanan. All three were shot before the cabin was burned down.

Since that time, Nolen has been in the Juvenile Treatment Center (JTC) in South Lake Tahoe.

El Dorado County Sheriff's Office (EDSO) arrested a 16-year-old boy on Thursday on charges he murdered his family in their Greenwood, CA cabin.

A Benicia family is missing following a fire in El Dorado County, according to a press release Friday.

Adam Buchanan, his 7-year-old son Gavin and Gavin’s mother Molly McAfee have been reported missing after a fire gutted Buchanan’s cabin near Georgetown in El Dorado County “last weekend,” according to the release.

The actual date of the fire was not immediately available.

The statement was released by the law offices of Gizzi & Reep, LLP in Benicia.
