Suspect in South Lake Tahoe stabbing remains at large; victim suffers arm wound
Submitted by Editor on Fri, 06/29/2012 - 3:56pmUPDATE 6:11PM: One person was stabbed and a suspect is at large and being sought by South Lake Tahoe police Friday evening.
The stabbing happened at about 3:46 Friday afternoon in the area of 11th and Eloise. The suspect is described as late teens, a white male, without a shirt, wearing plaid white and blue shorts, a Boston Celtics ball cap being worn backwards, with a backpack and carrying a knife. The stabbing may have stemmed from an incident where the victim, a 22-year-old man, was riding a bicycle and the suspect was on a skateboard. The victim was taken to Barton Memorial Hospital with a stab wound to his arm, said South Lake Tahoe Police Lt. David Stevenson.

Man airlifted after motorcycle accident on Highway 50 near Echo Summit
Submitted by Editor on Sat, 06/02/2012 - 5:15pmA motorcycle accident on Highway 50 near Echo Summit was reported Saturday afternoon, with the victim suffering head injuries, according to dispatchers.
A Calstar medical helicopter was called to the scene of the accident, reported at 4:23 p.m. at Highway 50 near Camp Sacramento, according to the California Highway Patrol. The man, who was reported to be conscious but bleeding from the head at the time Lake Tahoe area medics and emergency personnel arrived, was transported by Calstar, which landed near the top of Echo Summit.
South Lake Tahoe man, Robert Ranieri, dies in skydiving accident

A skydiving accident claimed the life of a South Lake Tahoe man on Tuesday. El Dorado County Sheriff's Office confirms that Robert Ranieri, 29, died after landing in Lake Tahoe. He was found submerged in the lake by divers. Ranieri was among three who were skydiving earlier Tuesday morning from a helicopter. Two other men were found safe. Douglas authorities report 10 arrests in casino area

There were 10 arrests during the celebration and a DUI arrest outside the casino area, said DCSO Sgt. Jim Halsey.
Among the charges were disorderly conduct, trespassing, minor consuming alcohol, battery, domestic battery, battery on a peace officer and civil protective custody.

The Nevada Highway Patrol has released the following information regarding the Highway 50 accident near Stateline at Lake Tahoe early Sunday morning that claimed the life of a 21-year-old Walnut Creek, Calif., man after being struck by a California Highway Patrol vehicle. The accident happened between Lake Village and Elks Point Road and was reported at 12:44 a.m. Sunday morning, said NHP Trooper Chuck Allen. The pedestrian, whose identity has not been released pending notification of family, died at the scene of the accident.
