Tree damages vehicle

December 1, 2011 (All day) Tree top snaps in the wind and destroyed a vehicle. K & K Services removed the tree off the vehicle and removed the damaged tree. Two trees were also blown over on Highway 50 accross from Rojo's and landed in the road right in front of a tree service company. K & K services stopped and cleaned it up and hauled away all the debri as well some other hazardous trees that were getting ready to fall onto the Highway. When contacted about the cost to remove the trees on city property the owner replied "Merry Christmas."

Unity at the Lake began as a small study group in Karen Martin's living room and 17 years later is a thriving, diverse and open spiritual community that well over a hundred locals and visitors call their spiritual home. Smoke from Sept. 12 fire continues to makes its way into Meyers, South Lake Tahoe
Submitted by Anonymous on Tue, 09/27/2011 - 5:08pmSteady wind has pushed large amounts of smoke from a fire burning since Sept. 12 south of Highway 50 near Strawberry into Christmas Valley, Meyers and South Lake Tahoe this afternoon.
El Dorado Forest Service officials report the lightning-caused Long Fire, which has burned about 275 acres in timber and brush, is about 85 percent contained and poses no risk to life or property. The fire is burning at around 7,000 feet in the Packsaddle Pass area, three miles southwest of Strawberry in El Dorado County.

Motorcycles will start at the Horizon Casino at Stateline beginning at 10 a.m. and parade down Highway 50, led by Santa Claus, to the Lake Tahoe Airport.
