Submitted by paula on Thu, 06/18/2020 - 4:06pmSOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The South Lake Tahoe man arrested in April on child pornography charges was indicted today by a federal grand jury.
Timothy Daniel Mackey, 39, was arrested at his home after a search warrant served on April 15, 2020. Since that time he has been in jail. If convicted, Mackey faces 5-20 years in prison and up to $250,000 in fines.

Timothy Daniel Mackey was arrested without incident by the FBI and U.S. Marshals at his home during the search.

The supervisor of two marijuana gardens in the rural communities of Somerset and Georgetown, Jorge Lamas, was arrested in Yuba City on October 25 by the U.S. Marshals Service. Lamas is a resident of that Northern California town.

Judge Mullen declared California Senate Bill 1437 unconstitutional. The bill was signed by then-California Governor Jerry Brown in September 2018 and changed the liability for accomplices to felony murder.

Tips received by law enforcement led them to Wilbur Ernesto Martinez-Guzman, and as they built a murder case they started to tail him. Immigration officials were unaware of Martinez-Guzman until those tips came in.
Officials did not want to lose the suspect and arrested him on immigration charges as the investigation continued and the murder case developed.

Father and son arrested during El Dorado Hills marijuana grow bust
Submitted by paula on Wed, 10/28/2015 - 5:14pmComplaints about an offensive smell and unsightly tarps brought out El Dorado County Sheriff's detectives to a home in El Dorado Hills who ended up uncovering a large marijuana grow.
On October 23, 2015, a search warrant was served on a residence and property in the 1400 block of Malcom Dixon Road.
When they arrived they found 52-year-old Jeffrey Johansen, Sr. guarding a marijuana grow from a tree house, armed with a shotgun. He complied with law enforcement and put down the shotgun.
Pollock Pines man arrested for starting King Fire; Bail set at $10,000,000
Submitted by paula on Thu, 09/18/2014 - 7:27pmWayne Allen Huntsman, 37. was arrested Wednesday on felony charges of Arson on Forest land with a Special Allegation of Arson with Aggravating Factors. Law enforcement officials held a press conference Thursday at the Cal Fire base in Camino, announcing the arrest.
Huntsman is being held in lieu of $10 million bail.
Arraignment is scheduled for Friday, September 19, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. in Department 7 of the El Dorado County Superior Court in Placerville.
Firefighters have put a line around 89% of the King Fire
Submitted by paula on Sun, 09/14/2014 - 2:43pm9/28/14 10:00 p.m. update: 4,420 firefighters and support staff are still on the scene of the 97.099 acre King Fire which is now 89% contained.
After 4 days of precipitation with accumulations of 1-3 inches, fire spread has been halted, however heat remains in the heavier fuels and in the heavy duff sheltered from the rain under the dense timber canopy. As the weather turns warm and dry over the next several days, expect to see an increase in fire activity and smoke production; however spread potential is extremely low, doe to the successful suppression efforts.
Charges of Vehicular Manslaughter Filed Against Douglas County District Court Judge

On August 20, 2013, cyclist Joseph Longo was killed in an accident near Pinenut and East Valley Roads in the Carson Valley. Charges state that Gibbons failed to exercise due care when overtaking or passing Longo who was traveling in the same direction. Gibbons is accused of failing to pass at a safe distance and not using due care to avoid a collision.

KRNV: Feds not pursuing South Lake Tahoe bribery charges

KRNV has received the first copy of the unsealed criminal complaint by the federal government and in that complaint a bribery charge is not mentioned. DiMatteo was originally charged with attempting to bribe South Lake Tahoe City Councilwoman Angela Swanson.
