Community gives thanks to Douglas County Sheriff's and District Attorney's offices

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Nev. - After the recent tragic events in Douglas County, members of the community thought it would be nice to thank the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and the District Attorney’s Office for all their hard work and dedication after the murders and accidental deaths.

Letter: Douglas County Sheriff Campaign

The Dave Brady for Sheriff campaign claims that “public safety dollars are NOT being spent wisely” by Sheriff Perini. I want to say that I believe that this claim is a clearly false and misleading statement. Here is why. The claims expressed in a recent Brady campaign brochure stated the sheriff’s annual budget had “skyrocked” from $3.1 million in 1986 to $16.0 million. While the raw numbers appear correct, Brady’s analysis and interpretation are very wrong. At first blush the increase seems astronomical and that is what Brady wants you to think.

Letter: Sheriff Perini is the leader we need at DCSO

With the race for Douglas County Sheriff nearing an end I would like to offer the following observations:

Supervisor Candidate Angela Swanson: " We need to address the county’s dysfunctional culture"

South Tahoe Now sent a questionnaire out to all of the candidates for El Dorado County Supervisor and Douglas County Sheriff. This is the last of the submitted responses. Candidates Sue Novasel, Kenny Curtzwiler and Angela Swanson were the only County Supervisor candidates to respond, and Douglas County Sheriff candidates Ron Pierini and Dave Brady were the only Sheriff candidates to respond. We thank those that took the time to reply.

1) What do you see as the Number 1 issue facing residents of District 5?

Douglas County Sheriff Candidate Dave Brady: Our Quality of Life is Being Threatened

South Tahoe Now sent a questionnaire out to all of the candidates for Douglas County Sheriff. We will be posting them in the order received. This is the second of three to be received.

1. What do you see as the biggest challenge facing the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department?
