Community gives thanks to Douglas County Sheriff's and District Attorney's offices

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Nev. - After the recent tragic events in Douglas County, members of the community thought it would be nice to thank the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and the District Attorney’s Office for all their hard work and dedication after the murders and accidental deaths.
On February 1, 2019, the Suicide Prevention Network rounded up volunteers and food donations and organized a barbeque lunch for the deputies, investigators, attorneys and others involved in the investigtions. Staff in the entire Judicial Law Enforcement building received thank you cards and thank you posters along with the lunch. Students from Aspire helped serve during the event.
Donations were received from Wal-Mart, Costco, Bentley Meats, Raleys, Home Depot, the Rossan Family, Paris Family, Posnien Family, Thaler Family, Sanchez family, Pinther Family, Bell Family, and Patty Hopkins. Students from Aspire helped serve during the event.
Other volunteers included Donna Chizek, Dave Brady, Terry Taylor, Deb Courtney, Andrea Highfill, Daria Winslow, Linda Sanfilippo, Ewa Czarnecka, Aspire, Denise Castle, and Woody Worthington.
“We can’t thank the community enough for their support working through this tragic event,” said Sheriff Dan Coverley. “Douglas County truly is a special place.”
