Boil water notice issued for Tahoe Keys homes after power failure at well
Submitted by paula on Mon, 08/24/2020 - 4:08pmSOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Residents in the Tahoe Keys are being asked to use only boiled tap water or bottled water for drinking and cooking purposes after an electrical failure at one of their wells (#3) Monday. The power failure led to a loss of water pressure.
The Tahoe Keys Property Owner Association's (TKPOA) said they emailed and hand delivered notices to residents to advise them of the boil water order.

COVID-19 case update for counties around Lake Tahoe
Submitted by paula on Thu, 06/04/2020 - 5:04pmSOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The El Dorado County health department has announced four new cases of COVID-19 for the county, three in the Lake Tahoe region, one in El Dorado Hills.
This brings the total of cases in the county to 102. There have been no new recoveries, leaving 34 active cases. The only hospitalization at time is a patient in the ICU county-wide.
The new cases are two men and two women, three aged 18-49 years old and one aged 50-64.
179 additional tests were given.
Food trucks approved for South Lake Tahoe
Submitted by paula on Sun, 02/24/2019 - 4:56pmSOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Except for special events, food trucks have been missing from the South Lake Tahoe horizon, with a previous ordinance preventing an vehicle selling food items for stopping more than 15 minutes.
On Tuesday, the South Lake Tahoe City Council approved a new food truck ordinance that will take effect on March 19, 2019.
Water restored to Tahoe Keys Marina
Submitted by paula on Fri, 07/28/2017 - 9:13am4:30 p.m. update: At 3:35 p.m. Friday afternoon the water was turned back on at the Tahoe Keys Marina. The two parties, Tahoe Keys Property Owners Association and Tahoe Keys Marina Management Inc., were able to work out an arrangement to get things flowing again.
The marina's lawyer Michael Matuska said he will file notice with the court to vacate the August 3 hearing as the two parties will be working on a continued relationship out of court.
Matuska did not release the specifics of the arrangement that restored the water service which has been down since July 11.
Popular South Lake Tahoe waterfront restaurant closed after water shut off
Submitted by paula on Wed, 07/12/2017 - 5:28pmSOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - An ongoing legal battle between the Tahoe Keys Marina and the Tahoe Keys Property Owners Association (TKPOA) has resulted in the water being shut off to all buildings at the marina.
Since the Fresh Ketch restaurant and adjacent deli are in one of those buildings, the El Dorado County Health Department shut them down due to a lack of water. A notice was also put up on the apartments in the complex advising residents of unsafe living conditions since there was no running water.
More food tampering incidents in South Lake Tahoe; One sent to hospital

The unidentified suspect is described as a white male adult, 5'7" with a thin build.

Mt. Tallac High School celebrates with community barbecue

"I thought maybe five or six parents would come for our first year," said Greenough, the school's Director. Instead, 21 families and ten community members/groups participated.
"The kids were excited to bring their parents, and the parents were grateful," said Greenough.
Council passes new South Lake Tahoe Vacation Home Ordinance

Even though there are no cases in El Dorado County as of yet, the cases in Washoe County and Bay Area are of concern.

El Dorado and Washoe County Deaths from Flu

The individual was an adult who resided on the Western Slope of the County. This is the first confirmed flu-related fatality in El Dorado County this flu season.
In Washoe County, Nevada there have been 5 flu related deaths, bringing the total deaths in Nevada due to the flu to 8.
