South Lake Tahoe route set for the Amgen 2019 men's race

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The 2019 Amgen Tour of California will be the longest and most challenging in its 14-year history, including a Men’s Stage 2 race from Rancho Cordova to South Lake Tahoe on May 13. This marks the fifth straight year South Lake Tahoe has hosted an Amgen Tour of California event.

South Lake Tahoe to be finish for Stage 2 of Amgen Tour of California

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The Amgen Tour of California organizers today announced the 13 host cities that will make up the seven stages of their 14th Tour of California, and South Lake Tahoe is again part of the premier cycling event for the fifth time. ON May 13, 2019, the Men’s Stage 2 will begin in Rancho Cordova and ends once again at Heavenly Mountain Resort.

Throughout seven stages over seven days, the world’s elite cyclists will contest more than 750 miles of roadways, highways and coastlines from Sacramento to Pasadena.

Amgen Tour of California men's and women's stages return to South Lake Tahoe

Good news for South Lake Tahoe as the Amgen Tour of California has announced their 2018 race schedule. A favored site for the women’s race, South Lake Tahoe will once again host the men for the Stage 6 finish and welcome back the women for the fourth year in a row on May 18. 2018.

AEG, the world’s leading sports and live entertainment company, made the announcement Thursday.

USA wins 2017 Reebok Spartan Race World Championship at Squaw

Top endurance athletes in the obstacle racing world demonstrated their skill and tenacity at one of the world’s most demanding racing destinations in this weekend’s 2017 Reebok Spartan Race World Championship at Squaw Valley. For a third straight year, a field of elite athletes and more than 15,000 competitors and spectators converged in Olympic Valley to take part in the pinnacle event of the obstacle racing season.

Thirty countries will be represented at the Reebok Spartan Race World Championship, which is the preeminent event of the obstacle racing season, when it returns to Squaw Valley, Lake Tahoe September 28-October 1.

500 elite athletes from more than 30 countries are set to descend on Squaw Valley to put their skills and conditioning to the test in both individual and team competitions, and to celebrate the culmination of the 2017 Spartan Race season.

Amgen Women's Race returns to Lake Tahoe for two stages in 2017

Amgen Tour of California announced today that professional cycling will return to Lake Tahoe, May 11-12, 2017. The Amgen Breakaway from Heart Disease Women's Race will include the overall start and Stage 2 on consecutive days. The women’s competition will conclude with a third stage in Elk Grove, May 13 and the final in Sacramento, May 14.

The men's race is skipping Lake Tahoe this year and is set to begin in Sacramento on May 14.
