Golden Bear Events presents The Great Cowboy Chicken Wing Cook Off as part of the Western Days on Saturday, June 2, at the South Lake Tahoe Recreation Center barbecue area. The Chicken Wing Cook Off will be held between 11 am and 2 pm. Start those fires, fryers, and barbeques and let the public decide who has the best chicken or buffalo wings in Tahoe.

Washoe County Sheriff's detectives worked a collaborative investigation with the Placer County Sheriff's Office and the Truckee Police Department to serve a search warrant which led to the subsequent arrest of a man who authorities believe may have been involved in a string of burglaries around Lake Tahoe since 2007.

The Expendables, a Santa Cruz based-group that blends reggae, punk rock and ’80s style dueling guitar solos, will rock the MontBleu Theater, Feb. 11. The group was a crowd favorite at the annual summer music festival, Warp Tour in California. With five albums down and countless miles traveled for tours they continue to pump up audiences. It's Martin Scorsese's homage to film pioneer Georges Méliès, a French innovator who created much of the library of movie techniques back before World War I only to be forgotten amid the strife on combat in France.
