Douglas County Sheriff's Office seeks public's help in identifying home burglary suspect

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Nev. - Law enforcement is asking for the public's help in identifying a man who is the suspect in a residential burglary on July 31 around 5:30 p.m.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office (DCSO) said the suspect, who is pictured above, is accused of stealing the homeowner's vehicle from their Gardnerville home. The home had a Ring doorbell security system that captured the suspect's approach.

Auto thefts and burglaries continue to target South Lake Tahoe residents

There has been a rash of suspicious circumstances in the Gardner Mountain area over the last week, ones that remind residents to lock their cars to prevent petty theft and other crimes of opportunity.

On March 19 between 4:04 a.m. and 5:30 a.m., 10 calls went into the South Lake Tahoe Police Department about suspicious activity on Gardner Street, Clement Street, Julie Lane, Tata Lane and Sand Harbor Road. In each incident, dome lights were on several cars as if some person(s) attempted to open them. In one incident the truck's doors were open and a stereo was stolen.

South Lake Tahoe Grow House Burglarized: Suspect Arrested and Officer Injured During Pursuit

South Lake Tahoe Police officers responding to 911 calls about a male breaking into a Bonanza Avenue residence on Tuesday ended up in a pursuit of an armed suspect. He was arrested and one officer was injured.

When officers arrived at the residence they saw the suspected burglar and gave chase to the suspect, who was carrying bags of stolen items from the residence.

The chase took them through yards and over a fence to a meadow near D Street and Highway 50. The suspect then attempted to pull a gun from his waistband but lost control of the 9 mm semiautomatic weapon.
