South Lake Tahoe Grow House Burglarized: Suspect Arrested and Officer Injured During Pursuit

South Lake Tahoe Police officers responding to 911 calls about a male breaking into a Bonanza Avenue residence on Tuesday ended up in a pursuit of an armed suspect. He was arrested and one officer was injured.

When officers arrived at the residence they saw the suspected burglar and gave chase to the suspect, who was carrying bags of stolen items from the residence.

The chase took them through yards and over a fence to a meadow near D Street and Highway 50. The suspect then attempted to pull a gun from his waistband but lost control of the 9 mm semiautomatic weapon.

He was apprehended without any shots fired but one police officer was hurt during the event and was taken to emergency. The officer's name and status have not been released as of yet.
