The annual South Lake Tahoe Optimist Club Day in Paradise is fun for the whole family and returns to Tahoe Paradise Park on Saturday, June 15 from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
It is a whole day jam-packed with fun starting off with a pancake breakfast from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Then their famous Duck Races being on the Upper Truckee River at the park. There is also a Car & Truck Show and Shine, kid's game with prizes, free live music from noon to 6:00 p.m., a beer and wine garden, a luau with a roasted pig and a silent auction.
Admission is free.

Tea for Three: Lady Bird, Pat & Betty at Valhalla Art, Music and Theatre. Don't miss the highly acclaimed one woman show - Tea for Three: Lady Bird, Pat and Betty. Labor Day weekend in Lake Tahoe full of activities to replace fireworks

With the cancellation of the 19-year long tradition of fireworks over Labor Day in South Lake Tahoe due to budget constraints, the Tahoe Douglas Visitors Authority and other local businesses have pulled together to present a full menu of things to do on the South Shore from a laser light show to concerts and a carnival.

Day in Paradise, a fun-filled event for the whole family sponsored by the South Lake Tahoe Optimist Club, will be on Saturday, June 17 from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Tahoe Paradise Park.
The day starts off with a pancake breakfast from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Then, stating at 10:00 a.m. are the famous Duck Races, kids games with prizes, Car & Truck Show and Shine, a Luau with roasted pig, beer and wine garden, and a silent auction.
Free live music for the day will be provided by two local favorites: Jesse Kalin Carson 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. / Trey Stone Band 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The weather is starting to clear and temperatures are warming up, just in time for the Memorial Day weekend. Don't forget, when you are coming or going from the Lake Tahoe Basin, check out the Caltrans message board at http://quickmap.dot.ca.gov/. Click on "Options" and "message boards." This handy tool shows you the exact time it takes to get from town over the mountain so you can stay longer and avoid the traffic!

Enjoy on-hole libations, a cart decorating and Spirit of Aloha contest, raffle prizes, and of course, golf! Then relax after at the luau to Hawaiian tunes. This summer fundraiser benefits the Foundation’s Community Health Endowment, which allows us to continually provide funding for our local hospital and community health needs.
The shot-gun tee off is at 1:30 p.m. at Lake Tahoe Golf Course, followed by a luau at 5 p.m.

Happy Hour Ca$h Mob Generates Additional Revenue for Members

More than 15 “mobbers” showed up for food and drink specials including a delicious smoked rib sampler platter at the Fox & Hound on Tramway Drive off Kingsbury Grade.
TahoeChamber would like to thank the Fox & Hound for hosting the mob, as well as the attendees at this event that that was created to help fulfill the chamber’s goal of creating a strong local economy.
Barton Foundation golf tournament raises more than $14,000 for Community Health Endowment

Barton Foundation's 19th annual Golf Tournament and fundraiser held on Thursday, June 20 at the Lake Tahoe Golf Course raised more than $14,000 for Barton’s Community Health Endowment fund. The Hawaiian themed, “Tiki Tee Off and Lei Up Luau Golf Tournament hosted a field of 108 golfers and 160 luau attendees – complete with a roasted pig, raffle prizes and a performance by the Ukuleles of Tahoe.
