The Nevada Department of Wildlife is increasing their educational campaign for boaters and swimmers to understand the dangers of cold water at Lake Tahoe.
Placer County Sheriff's Office ends search for UNR student Marc Ma
Submitted by paula on Thu, 06/23/2016 - 6:23pmThe Placer County Sheriff's Office has ended their search for University of Nevada (UNR) football player Marc Ma of Hawaii who went missing during a paddle board outing on June 10.
Ma fell from a paddle board as he and fellow UNR football players encountered strong winds and choppy waves off the west shore of Lake Tahoe.
Agencies to continue search for body of missing UNR paddleboarder
Submitted by paula on Wed, 06/15/2016 - 5:38pmThe search for Marc Ma, the 20-year-old University of Nevada Reno football player who went missing after a paddleboard outting on Lake Tahoe with teammates, will resume on Thursday, June 16.
The Tahoe Dive Team and volunteers from the Placer County Sheriff's Office will be joined by Kern County Sheriff's deputies and an out-of-state company to search for Ma who went missing on the afternoon of June 10 when winds came up and created dangerous conditions including 3- to 5-foot waves.
