Where to watch Superbowl LIV in South Lake Tahoe

Super Bowl LIV, the 54th Super Bowl (the 50th modern-era National Football League championship game) will decide the champion for the NFL's 2019 and 100th season. The National Football Conference champion San Francisco 49ers will play against the American Football Conference champion Kansas City Chiefs.

No matter who you are rooting for, or if you just enjoy watching the game which is known for epic halftime shows and commercials (and championship football), South Lake Tahoe and Stateline are providing parties and fun spaces to do so on Sunday.

Santa headed to Tahoma for Saturday celebration

TAHOMA, Calif. - Santa Claus is arriving in the Lake Tahoe community of Tahoma on Saturday, December 1 at 6:00 p.m.

His arrival has been marked by a decades-long tradition of caroling, hot chocolate, presents, cider and a cookie potluck.

The event will be at the Maria Sluchak Park at SR89 and Pine Street. There will also be a Christmas tree raffled off, tickets are $1 each.

Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at St. Theresa Catholic Church

The entire community is invited to the St. Theresa Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on Saturday, December 1 at 6:30 p.m. in front of the church located at 1041 Lyons Avenue.

There will be a potluck in Grace Hall after the ceremony. Families are encouraged to bring a dish and drinks to share. If your last name begins with A-M bring a main dish; N-T bring desserts and U-Z bring Fruits, finger foods or soft drinks.

Guide to Nevada Day activities in Carson City

It’s that time again. The Battle Born state celebrates its admission to the United States on the last Friday of October, with the annual Nevada Day parade on Saturday. New this year is a ‘Passport to Downtown’ event on Friday. Also new this year is the one-night-only curated art show, Capital Collage, on Friday night featuring over 20 diverse artists and organizations.

Type I Diabetes Support Group will be held the first Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the Barton Memorial Hospital Board Room (in Hospital) located at 2170 South Ave, South Lake Tahoe.

Find out more about the our community center if you've never come to any of our classes, services or workshops. We even have a bicycle available for checkout with our front desk. Our cork board hosts a wide variety of posts from our current classes, and community businesses that people own.

Enjoy sharing good food, socializing and an interesting talk by William Cottress, MD, on “Osteoporosis and Nutritional Deficiency” (leading to fractures). There will also be a humorous skit by Vern Lee & Francine Garcia. The Potluck begins at 5:30pm. Turkey and Ham will be provided. Please bring a salad, side dish or dessert for 6-8 people, and your plate and utensils. There will also be an Easter Hat contest. The program will start at 6:30pm.
