A Weekend of Dangberg Family History

July 24, 2016 - 10:00am The weekend of July 23 and 24 the Dangberg Home Ranch Historic Park will feature two days of Dangberg family history with a Chautauqua on Fred Dangberg, Jr. and a presentation by his real life grandson Steve “Dink” Achard. Both presentations are free.

July 10, 2016 - 10:00am Author Mark McLaughlin will speak on his book, Snowbound! Legendary Winters of the Tahoe Sierra, in a free presentation at the Dangberg Home Ranch Historic Park on Sunday, July 10, at 10:00 am.
Mark McLaughlin’s latest book is not about meteorology, however it is about weather. In his book, McLaughlin focuses on the top ten biggest winters in the Tahoe Sierra based on snowfall measured at Donner Pass since 1879. He will share amazing weather facts and incredible stories of men and women struggling to cope against some of the most powerful storms on Earth.

Author to Speak about Yosemite's 150th at SLT

September 23, 2014 - 6:00pm Author and Sierra Nevada Native, Gary D. Noy, returns with his newest book, "Sierra Stories: Tales of Dreamers, Schemers, Bigots, and Rogues." This interesting collection highlights unusual or lesser-known stories of the Sierra Nevada experience with the focus of this presentation being the Yosemite Valley Grant Act of 1864, which brought the valley under government control and is considered the beginning of the California State Park system. This year is the 150th anniversary of that event. The legislation was introduced by an El Dorado County resident, John Conness.

August 2, 2014 - 1:00pm Gary Noy, author of Sierra Stories: Tales of Dreamers, Schemers, Bigots and Rogues, will sign books and lecture as a Benefit for the South Lake Tahoe Family Resource Center on August 2, 2014 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
The author will make a presentation and sign books to help raise money for the agency.
The event will take place at the Center’s Bookworks Bookstore located at 3330 Lake Tahoe Blvd. in South Lake Tahoe.
