South Lake Tahoe Mayor Sass: Loop Road, housing and bike trails

With the warm spell of late, at lake level it looks like the big snow storms never happened. However, go up above 8,000 feet and you see a much different picture. Atop Heavenly’s Dipper Chair there is an information shack that is between 8-10 feet high. Next to it is 10 foot high signage indicating where the runs are. As of today, you can’t see either of these. Over 50 feet of snow fell up there and even with the melt and the settling, there is still a ton of white stuff. I expect our streams will be flowing into August and our mountains might stay white throughout the summer.

SLT flags at half-staff after death of former Councilman Bill Crawford

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, CALIF.: Former City of South Lake Tahoe Councilmember Bill Crawford passed away on Friday, November 25, 2016 at the age of 82 after a brief illness. In honor of his service to the community, all City flags will be lowered to half-staff through Friday, December 2.

Mayor's State of the City Address: "No progress will ever be made without change"

For his "State of the City" address, South Lake Tahoe Mayor Hal Cole took everyone on a trip through the city, celebrating the successes of the last year and creating an anticipation for a future seen with new investments, an improved economy, more businesses and a community that will continue to thrive.

Mayor presents "State of the City Address" at Tuesday's Council meeting

Mayor Hal Cole will deliver the 2014 State of the City Address during Tuesday's City Council meeting.

The agenda for the 9 a.m. meeting at the Council Chambers located at the airport also includes the graduation of the Citizen's Academy, the presentation of an audit that shows paid parking was profitable and a vacation rental home presentation.

Mayor’s 2014 State of the City Address

The community is invited to the next South Lake Tahoe City Council meeting to hear Mayor Hal Cole's State of the City Address on Tuesday, November 18. He will be wrapping up his year as Mayor.

During the same meeting, the Fall 2014 Citizen's Academy Graduation will be held. The other agenda items will be posted on Friday, September 14.

City Council Chambers are located at 1901 Airport Road in South Lake Tahoe.

The State of the City address by the Mayor was upbeat, informative and a real pat myself on the back (if any of them actually could) and see all the positive things we have done to improve the city while sugarcoating on how we actually got to a balanced budget.

South Lake Tahoe Successes Highlighted in Today's State of the City Address

Mayor Tom Davis touched on more than a couple of dozen points during his State of the City Address which was presented to an overflowing full house at Tuesday's City Council meeting.

Among the Davis's highlighted city successes for the year:

Linear Park - Over $600,000 was spent on a paved bike path, landscaping and an additional 22 lights on a stretch from Wildwood Avenue to just before Pioneer Trail.
