SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - A full lineup of family-friendly events is on tap this summer courtesy of On Course Events, a South Lake Tahoe based production company.

Final Tahoe Games Bike Night of the season Friday

Back to the Lake Tahoe Golf Course for the last race of the season. Tahoe Bike Night is a family friendly cross-country bike race that features an illuminated course that spans across the golf course, over fairways, into the rough, through sand traps and over bridges with the occasional cart path.

6:00 - 7:30 pm Registration ($20 entry fee)

7:40 pm Riders Meeting and Critical Glow, Get to Know (practice lap)

8:00 pm Race
Heat 1 - Elite, 50+ and Fat Tire (2 laps)
Heat 2 - Youth, Junior, Cruiser + Odd Bikes (1 lap)
Heat 3 - 18-35, 35-49 (2 laps)

2nd annual Tahoe Games Bike Night Series starts Friday

The Tahoe Games, the unique nighttime bike series at Lake Tahoe Golf Cours, returns this summer with the first night on Friday, June 24.

Cyclists on non-motorized bikes go cross-country over fairways, through the sand bunkers, into the rough and over the bridges, all while illuminated. All ages had a blast at this event last summer.

Sierra Cycle Works will be on hand with bike demos and raffle prizes for competitors. Helmets bike lights, headlamps, glow sticks, decorated bikes and costumes are all strongly encouraged.

What to do in South Lake Tahoe this Memorial Day weekend

The weather is starting to clear and temperatures are warming up, just in time for the Memorial Day weekend. Don't forget, when you are coming or going from the Lake Tahoe Basin, check out the Caltrans message board at http://quickmap.dot.ca.gov/. Click on "Options" and "message boards." This handy tool shows you the exact time it takes to get from town over the mountain so you can stay longer and avoid the traffic!

Season wraps up for inaugural cross country night bike races

The inaugural Tahoe Games Bike Night Series, presented by On Course Events, Tahoe Center for Orthopedics and the Lake Tahoe Golf Course will conclude with the final races of the season on Saturday, September 26.

These family-friendly x-country night bike races feature a custom illuminated course that runs through the Lake Tahoe Golf Course, over fairways, into the rough, through sand traps and over bridges with the occasional cart path. The course is approximately 3 miles per lap, with most classes riding 2 laps.

Stand Up paddle races and concert at Tahoe Paradise Park Sunday

On Course Events presents Music in the Park and Tahoe Games Standup Paddle Races at Tahoe Paradise Park on August 23 and September 13.

“Bringing events to this gem of a venue has been a dream for On Course Events for many years,” states Leslie Schultz of On Course Events. “We’re excited to bring people together with great music and recreation in such a beautiful location!”

The new community event series begins at Tahoe Paradise Park with the Tahoe Games Standup Paddleboard Races from 2:00 p.m to 4:00 p.m. The race will be on a custom course built across Lake Baron.

Bike at Night event in South Lake Tahoe gaining in popularity

While many bicycle enthusiasts enjoy riding the dirt trails of South Lake Tahoe, there is now a new way to enjoy the ride: in the dark. You've heard of Critical Mass...now it's Critical Glow, Tahoe style.

Tahoe Games Bike Nights have quickly become the "go-to" family friendly event at the Lake Tahoe Golf Course. They are cross-country bike races on a custom-made illuminated set of trails, 6 miles in all.

Ride the fairways, sand traps and into the rough as the race takes riders over bridges, along the river and back to the clubhouse.
