Season wraps up for inaugural cross country night bike races

The inaugural Tahoe Games Bike Night Series, presented by On Course Events, Tahoe Center for Orthopedics and the Lake Tahoe Golf Course will conclude with the final races of the season on Saturday, September 26.

These family-friendly x-country night bike races feature a custom illuminated course that runs through the Lake Tahoe Golf Course, over fairways, into the rough, through sand traps and over bridges with the occasional cart path. The course is approximately 3 miles per lap, with most classes riding 2 laps.

“The inaugural season of the Tahoe Games Bike Night has been a great success with nearly 100 competitors tackling last month’s challenging course,” states Leslie Schultz of On Course Events. “By splitting the races up in heats, we’ve created a fun and unique Lake Tahoe experience for racers and spectators of all ages to enjoy under a full moon!”

Tahoe Game Bike Night is free to attend, with a $15 competitors entry fee. Registration will open at 7:00 p/m. Races will begin at 9:00 p.m. with 3 separate heats based on respective classes and age groups. In addition to the top 3 riders for each class, awards will be given out to the “Most Awesome” and “Best Glow.” An after party with food and drink specials and a live DJ will keep the festivities going inside the Clubhouse.

Helmets and bike lights are recommended for all competitors, however, JetLites will be on-site at offering a limited supply of free light rentals to ensure rider safety. The course will be designed for ages 10 and up to enjoy on any type of non-motorized bicycle. For more information visit TahoeGames.com or connect with Tahoe Games on Facebook or Instagram.
