FBI warns of possible cyber crimes during coronavirus pandemic

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The FBI anticipates cyber actors will exploit increased use of virtual environments by government agencies, the private sector, private organizations, and individuals as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Computer systems and virtual environments provide essential communication services for telework and education, in addition to conducting regular business. The criminal, or cyber actor, will exploit vulnerabilities in these systems to steal sensitive information, target individuals and businesses performing financial transactions, and engage in extortion.

Fox & Hound reopens after deck fire forced closure in July

STATELINE, Nev. - Popular Kingsbury Grade restaurant, Fox & Hound, has reopened after a small July 9 fire on their deck caused by a generator forced them to close. The restaurant has undergone a complete renovation over the past ten weeks.

For 27 plus years, Fox & Hound has served locals and visitors with great food and a great view of the Carson Valley. They are located near the Ridge Tahoe, Nevada-side ski lifts, Tahoe Rim Trail.

The Vagabond Inn located at 3131 S Virginia Street in Reno, NV has changed ownership after being purchased by Michael Bathla. Identifying the hotel and city of Reno as a prime investment opportunity, his first course of action for the property is to complete an array of interior and exterior property improvements in excess of $200,000 before the upcoming holiday season.

This will be a thing of the past as the town just received $20,000 from the Douglas County Commissions on August 6 to fund their Main Street Wi-Fi Project.

FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski to Visit South Lake Tahoe and Barton Memorial Hospital

The chairman of the Federal Communications Commission, Julius Genachowski, will visit Barton Memorial Hospital on Monday as part of a tour visiting health care facilities in California and Nevada. “How much more warm weather and sunshine can we take,” laughed Kay Williams, deadpanning over last season’s epic seven-month winter and 700+ inches of snow. “Sure, various ski resorts like to be the first to open or last to close, but we want folks to know that we’re ready with early-season offerings.”
