Heavenly Village holding 4th annual Fall AleFest & Chicken Wing Cook-Off

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The stage is set, and excitement is brewing in Heavenly Village as they gear up for the 4th annual Fall AleFest & Chicken Wing Cook-Off on September 14 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The event promises a fusion of flavors, brews, and lively entertainment.

LAKE TAHOE, Nev. - After a successful inaugural year, the 2024 Lake Tahoe Comic Con returns to the Tahoe Blue Event Center on September 14 and 15, 2024. Special celebrity guests will be on hand on both days. There will also be an amateur cosplay contest with prizes (games, toys) taking place on BOTH days (adults on Saturday at 4 p.m. and kids on Sunday at 3 p.m.).

Play and Learn Group for ages 2-5 years with a caregiver (free)

Join Hub 5 for a fun and free weekly (almost) program for young children with their parents or caregivers. They will meet in the Gazebo by the playground at Bijou Community Park from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

South Lake Tahoe author and teacher Bridey Thelen-Heidel presents at next library program

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Local author and teacher, Bridey Thelen-Heidel, presents her memoir Bright Eyes at the next Friends of the Library presentation on Tuesday, September 17 at 5:30 p.m.

Heidel, who teaches English at her alma mater South Tahoe High, will present her newly published book about the struggles of living with a chaotic and dysfunctional mother. "Bright Eyes, Surviving our Monsters and Learning to Live Without Them" A Memoir, will be available for purchase.

3rd annual Witches Night Out at Valhalla Tahoe

Please join your community at the 3rd annual Witches Night Out at Valhalla Estates on September 18 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. This year over 30 vendors will be featured at the night market. There will be live music by Robin Orr, a photo booth, tarot readings, costume contests, and more!

Whether you're a seasoned sorceress or a curious newcomer, this is the event of the season you won't want to miss. Gather your coven, don your most spellbinding attire, and join in the fun for a night of magic and mystery!

Learn how to become a Firewise USA neighborhood in Lake Tahoe Basin at workshop

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Join the Tahoe Resource Conservation District (TRCD) for an informative and free Firewise USA Workshop where you'll learn essential tips on how to navigate the Firewise application process. All Lake Tahoe community members are encouraged to attend, especially those who want to become Firewise recognized and learn more.

It will take place on Thursday, September 19 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the South Tahoe Public Utility District Board Room, 1275 Meadow Crest Drive, South Lake Tahoe.

Annual Great Sierra River Cleanup on September 21st

Join Sierra Nevada Alliance and our host sites throughout the Sierra Nevada including various sites throughout the Lake Tahoe basin for the Great Sierra River Cleanup (GSRC) on Saturday, September 21, 2024. Last year, 633 volunteers removed 7,402.5 pieces of trash from 98 miles of Sierra Nevada waterways. You can be part of the solution and volunteer to help remove litter and plastic pollution from our beloved Sierra Nevada watershed by joining Keep Tahoe Blue, Incline Village General Improvement District, Tahoe Area Sierra Club, and Diamond Peak Ski Education Foundation.

Join community members on September 23, 2024, at Tahoe Paradise Golf Course for the inaugural Live Violence Free Twilight Tournament Fundraiser Scramble. This event offers a great evening of golf while raising crucial funds for Live Violence Free, a nonprofit that has been dedicated to supporting survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse in the South Lake Tahoe community for 47 years.
