Philanthropy on Tap at The Hangar

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The El Dorado Community Foundation his hosting "Philanthropy on Tap" at two locations his month, one on the west slope, and one in South Lake Tahoe.

These unique events will provide a “flight” of 35-40 nonprofit organizations serving El Dorado County. Each organization will have 60-90 seconds to provide its elevator speech describing its mission, programs, and greatest needs. These events are open to the community for free.

Wild Things, Inc. bringing outdoor animal program to the South Lake Tahoe Library

The South Lake Tahoe Library is hosting Wild Things, Inc. on Friday, Junee 28 at 2 p.m. Stop by and enjoy an assortment of wild animals during the outdoor presentation.

Learn about the animals' habitat and history.

The whole family is invited to the free event which is sponsored by the South Lake Tahoe Optimists Club.

The library is located at 1000 Rufus Allen Blvd., South Lake Tahoe.

Music in the Park starts June 7 with Trey Stone Band

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The 2024 Summer Concert Series Music in the Park starts on Friday, June 7, and ends on September 20. The concerts are from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Tahoe Paradise Park.

El Dorado County Sheriff's Office holding emergency evacuation town hall meeting

MEYERS, Calif. - Join the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office of Emergency
Services, local fire agencies, Cal Fire, and the California Highway Patrol for an Educational Town Hall meeting on evacuations and wildfire preparedness on June 29 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Meyers Elementary School.

The school is located at 1095 East San Bernardino Avenue in Meyers.

Pop UpThrift Shop for Live Violence Free, donations accepted this week

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Live Violence Free is hosting a Pop-Up Thrift Shop on June 29 and 30, from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m., at the American Legion parking lot. Discover gently used clothing, household items, and more, all while supporting a great cause! Enjoy delicious food from a variety of food trucks as you shop.

LVF is accepting gently used clothing, household items, electronics, tools, and sports equipment for the event. Donations can be dropped off at the nonprofit's office on June 7/8 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Master Gardners of Lake Tahoe high altitude plant clinic and sale

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The Master Gardeners of Lake Tahoe are having a Community Plant Sale after a hiatus of a few years. While this event may be a bit smaller than those of past years, a selection of 25 ornamental species of both native and adaptive plants will be available including Blue Flax, Elderberry, Mock Orange, Twinberry, and Western Spiraea. These plants will flourish in the Tahoe Basin’s high-elevation environment.

CoWork Tahoe has graciously given their parking lot for the event.
