With the latest round of lawsuits affecting our local businesses' bottom lines, It is imperative that every business owner understands what role they must play to ensure both California and Federal ADA Accessibility standards are met to not only welcome customers with disabilities, but also to avoid costly litigation. A meeting at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course on May 23, 9 a.m. will address the latest ADA regulations.
TahoeChamber is proud to partner with Brian Shinault, CASp (Certified Access Specialist) and Dave Walker, CASp, to present the upcoming “Your Town Forum” on Wednesday, May 23rd in the South Room at Edgewood. All businesses are encouraged to attend, and advance reservations are strongly suggested. Tickets can be purchased in advance for just $5 members/$10 non-members at www.tahoechamber.org or will at the door for $10 members/$15 non-members.
The forum will cover immediate steps business owners, tenants and landlords must take to lower their risk of a lawsuit and to increase their compliance with these Civil Rights Laws. Attendees will also learn how CASp (Certified Access Specialist) reports are an essential tool to improve your business' accessibility and what steps you should take if you have received a letter of violation to avoid an expensive lawsuit.
