Californians are invited to attend public hearings being held by the Department of Motor Vehicles on AB60, the state law that directs DMV to issue driver licenses to undocumented California residents.

While no hearings are held in South Lake Tahoe, there will be one in each Southern California and Northern California as well as an on-line telecast.

The second segment of the Stateline to Stateline Bikeway was dedicated during a ceremony on Thursday. The 1.2-mile shared-use bike path connects Elks Point with Round hill Pines on the Nevada side.

This new stretch adds to the existing path for a total of 2.2 miles and provides access to Rabe Meadow with Nevada Beach and Round Hill Pines Resort.

It was a lot more fun than sections of the Flume Trail and Rim Trail we’ve ridden, two XC rides that weren’t as exciting as we had hoped on longer travel rigs. After a discussion with Nat Lopes about building table top jump lines last year, (Nat and his company Hilride consulted on the project) I was looking forward to seeing the jump line on lower Corral.

The results from the June 3rd election are in for El Dorado County Supervisor. Sue Novasel retained her lead by getting 28.47% of the vote (1,557 votes) and Kenny Curtzwiler came from behind and ended up with 17.87% of the vote (977 votes). Kevin Brown from Pollock Pines had the 2nd place lead after the precincts were counted but lost ground on the mail-ins and provisional votes. He ended up behind third place finisher Angela Swanson who was 10 votes behind Curtzwiler.

The top two vote getters move onto the General Election in November.

"Heavenly" the bear cub that recuperated at Lake Tahoe Wildlife Care after being found injured on the slopes of Heavenly has found a permanent home. He will be living on a 5 acre wildlife sanctuary in Scottsdale, Arizona with a couple of other cubs.

According to LTWC co-founder and Secretary/Treasurer Tom Milham, Heavenly left South Lake Tahoe early Tuesday to his new home, Southwest Wildlife Conservation Center. The bear had been with LTWC since March 3.

South Lake Tahoe's Sho Kashima was named to the 2015 U.S. Freestyle Skiing Team Tuesday. Kashima, who has called Heavenly Valley his home since 4 years old, made the "A" men's team.
