Vagina Monologues returns to South Lake Tahoe for 15th year

The Vagina Monologues returns for its 15th year in South Lake Tahoe on February 25 and 25 for two shows at the Beach Retreat & Lodge. The unforgettable event is two evenings of sharing prose, pain, love, laughter and life. The cast is made up of a diverse group of community members including students, mothers, daughters, sisters new-to-the-stage and seasoned performers.

Friday night's performance begins at 8:00 p.m. but there is a special dinner attendees can also attend from 6:00 p.m to 7:00 p.m.. Saturday is an 8:00 p.m. show only with no dinner. Both shows and dinner are in the beachfront hotel's new convention center. Doors to the show open at 7:15 p.m.

VIP tables are available for purchase. There will be a silent auction and live music. The show is $25, dinner is an additional $25 and VIP tables for 10 are $300.

All proceeds benefit Live Violence Free, Tahoe Youth and Family Services and Partners Against the Trafficking of Humans (PATH).

V-Day is a global activist movement to end violence against women and girls, by raising funds and awareness. Productions like this and other V-day benefit events organized by volunteer activists take place around the world, educating millions of people about the reality of violence against women and girls.

The Award-winning play, The Vagina Monologues is based on V-Day Founder/playwright Eve Ensler's interviews with more than 200 women. With humor and grace the production celebrates women's sexuality and strength. Over the last 20 years, through this play and the liberation of this one word, countless women throughout the world have taken control of their bodies and their lives.
