Garlic Talk by the Master Gardeners at SLT Library

Event Date:
September 25, 2018 - 6:00pm

The UCCE Master Gardeners of Lake Tahoe are pleased to offer a free workshop (donation suggested) on growing fall planted garlic, shallots and elephant garlic. Participants will have the opportunity to receive free bulbs and cloves for fall planting and will be asked to provide basic information on how each variety does, based on what type growing technique is used to grow out provided plant materials. In addition to providing plant materials, the workshop will cover planting techniques, and there will be an interesting discussion on the biology and history of this ancient group of food crops.

Growing garlic is a great opportunity to introduce children to gardening. Presented by the Friends of the Library. All 'thumbs' are welcome.
