Give Blood, Get a t-shirt in South Lake Tahoe

There will be a South Lake Tahoe community blood drive on Friday, October 16 from 12:00 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Rec Center gym. Walk-ins are welcome.

All participants will receive a free t-shirt.

BloodSource is holding the blood drive to meet the community need for blood and blood products. The blood drive is sponsored by the Barton Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

Thanks to the generosity of local donors when you receive care at a Sacramento-Tahoe area hospitals, such as Barton Memorial, Kaiser Permanente, UC Davis Medical Center, Sutter or Mercy hospitals, the blood you receive comes from BloodSource blood donors.

Donating blood is safe, easy and takes about an hour. Donors must weigh at least 110 pounds, be 17 years old (16 year olds need a signed BloodSource Parental consent form) and be generally healthy. There is no upper age limit for blood donations. Donors must bring a photo ID and should drink plenty of fluids before donating. Potential marrow donors can register for Be the Match through BloodSource. Find more information at www.bloodsource.org
