Sue Novasel sworn in as El Dorado County Supervisor

The South Lake Tahoe area of El Dorado County now has a new supervisor, officially. Sue Novasel won the election for Area 5 County Supervisor back in November and has jumped right into the job of representing her constituents which cover the area from Pollock Pines to Tahoma to South Lake Tahoe.

She was officially sworn in on Monday in Placerville, then again at their first Board of Supervisors meeting on Tuesday, then again in South Lake Tahoe on Thursday.

During Tuesday's meeting Novasel received her appointments. She was appointed to the County Mental Health Commission, First 5 Commission, El Dorado County Chamber of Commerce and all Tahoe commissions and boards - including TRPA, CTC (Californian Tahoe Conservancy), TTD (Tahoe Transportation District), TPRID (Tahoe Paradise Resort Improvement District), Tahoe Chamber of Commerce, South Lake Tahoe Basin Waste Management Authority and the South Lake Tahoe Recreation Facilities Joint Powers Authority.

I asked her what she'd like to do in her first 100 days in office. "I want to
re-establish the Meyers Community Plan process; help with improving administration and oversight of the Tahoe Paradise Park RID, schedule local town hall meetings for Tahoma and other rural areas; begin plans to erect Welcome signage for Pollock Pines and Meyers; and establish collaborative talks between County and City officials,: she replied. If that weren't enough she added that she'd like to see Board of Supervisors meetings better organized in terms of planned discussions on such important topics as mental health, public safety and human trafficking.

"There is obviously a lot of work to be done and I am honored to be selected by our community to do this job!"
