Schools on the South Shore open; Douglas County on 90 minute delay

All schools in the Lake Tahoe Unified School District (South Lake Tahoe) will be open on Wednesday, January 16 but there are some program cancellations - All after[school AAA programs are cancelled, STHS cross country practice going to Kirkwood cancelled as are the high school alpine practices at Sierra-at-Tahoe.

Up at the North Shore, Truckee Tahoe School District schools are closed. All school activities are cancelled unless notified otherwise.

All Douglas County School District schools will open 90 minutes later than regularly scheduled, and transportation to school will be delayed 90 minutes. You should expect buses to pick up students 90 minutes later than their normal pick-up time. Students will return home at their regularly scheduled time. This 90 minute late start is in effect for both Lake and Valley schools.

FOR LAKE SCHOOLS - MAIN BUS STOPS ONLY
School busses will stop at main bus stops only for all LAKE schools (ZCES, GWHS) 90 minutes later than their normal pick-up time. These stops are designated as:

The corner of Tina Court and Ski Court for students living in the Tramway and Kingsbury Village area:

WHS - Bus will arrive at 8:10 a.m. and depart at 8:35 a.m.
ZCES - Bus will arrive at 9:27 a.m. and depart at 9:50 a.m.

Glenbrook area will board at the entrance to Glenbrook
WHS - Bus will arrive at 8:02 a.m.
ZCES - Bus will arrive at 9:06 a.m.

Parents are responsible for delivering students to the main bus stops in the morning and picking them up from the same stop in the afternoon.

All Washoe County schools are on two-hour delay.
