Douglas County hires new Human Resources Director

After a competitive recruitment process was conducted for the Director of Human Resources, Douglas County has selected current Interim Human Resources Director Wendy Lang for the permanent position of Director of Human Resources.

“I am very excited about this position and I look forward to serving employees throughout the County in full capacity,” said Wendy Lang. “My background and experience aligns with the needs of the organization and I am excited to do great work with the entire Human Resource team.”

Wendy has lived in Douglas County for 8 years with her husband Josh and three children. Wendy was originally hired January 2014 as a Senior Human Resources Analyst and came to Douglas County with over 10 years of extensive Human Resources experience. Wendy has Human Resources experience in government, government contracting, hospitality and manufacturing.

Wendy earned her Master’s Degree in Business Administration from West Texas A&M and her undergraduate degree in Business Management, Human Resources; with a minor in Speech Communications from California State University, Stanislaus. In addition to her degrees, she has a Senior Professional in Human Resources Certification. Wendy has been acting as Director of Human Resources since May 2015.

Wendy began her official role as Director of Human Resources Manager on Monday, January 18, 2016.

“Wendy has quickly learned the County’s organization and the wide range of challenges,” said Christine Vuletich, Assistant County Manager and Director of Finance. “While acting as Director of Human Resources, she has proven her management skills by continuing the vision and strategic objectives of the organization and has lead the team through many successful projects. Douglas County is fortunate to have her.”
