The South Lake Tahoe Police Department is asking for the public's help in locating a 75-year-old resident who suffers from dementia.

Daniel Trevis was found missing from his home on Pine Blvd near the state line at 4:00 a.m. Thursday, January 19. He lives with his son Henry Smart who was away from the home most of Wednesday. Trevis has a tendency to wander away from their residence, so when Smart returned and he couldn't locate his father in the midst of a snow storm, the SLTPD was called.

Trevis is described as a white male approximately 5'3" tall, weighing 135 lbs, with green or hazel eyes and white, shoulder length hair. Trevis has a white beard. Trevis wears dentures and glasses. He may be wearing an orange jacket, black pants, and a black and white baseball cap.

Henry Smart and investigating officers have checked with neighbors and all of Trevis' most customary local destinations, but he has not yet been found as of 9:00 a.m. When Trevis wanders, he typically remains around the business areas of Highway 50, between Pioneer Trail in South Lake Tahoe, and the casino corridor in Stateline, Nevada. Thus far, investigators have located only one recent photograph of Daniel Trevis, which is attached.

If anyone can help with information, or if you believe you may know where Daniel Trevis may be located, please call the South Lake Tahoe Police Department at 530-542-6100.
