Mild temps, chance of rain and snow in the South Lake Tahoe weekly forecast

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - It will continue to be dry in the Lake Tahoe Basin with light winds for Martin Luther King Jr Day though abundant high clouds will continue.

A new system expected Tuesday appears to be heading north of Lake Tahoe though it could provide modest mountain snows, light valley rain, and gusty winds. Fairly quiet the remainder of the week though there are a couple of weak disturbances Wednesday and Friday before a potentially stronger system arrives next weekend. Temperatures are expected to remain above average into next weekend (possibly easing down Sunday), according to the National Weather Service in Reno.
