Tahoe Women's Community Fund to give away $22,000 to local organizations

The Tahoe Women's Community Fund, a group of South Lake Tahoe women who have gathered together to give away money, has announced their inaugural grant cycle. Until February 29, organizations serving the community in four different areas can apply for a portion of the $22,000 to be given away.

Applications for their Focus Grant and Impact Grants can be found on their website, or by clicking here.

Focus Grant - Up to $10,000 will be awarded to 501(c)3 organizations, schools, churches and service organizations serving the children and youth of South Lake Tahoe.

Impact Grant - Up to $4,000 will be awarded to organizations serving the community in each of three categories: Poverty and Housing, Education and Literacy, and Mental Health and Awareness.

Any non-profit that fits into one of their focuses may apply in that focus area. TWCF members will be dispersing this to as many non-profits as they have been able to identify, but hope to spread the word for those that may not have been informed. Only one grant application per organization.

The fund was launched to leverage the power of collective giving to make a broad and lasting impact on the communities of Lake Tahoe. Through a simple grant making process, the annual proceeds from membership provide financial support to nonprofits that address pressing issues facing local communities.

The group is different from others in town as they are not a service club, but a granting club. Women can join by submitting an application in any other their three levels and with a donation of $100 to $1,000.
