Just a week after winning her fourth-straight X Games gold medal in women's halfpipe, South Lake Tahoe's Maddie Bowman has struck gold again, this time at the Visa U.S. Grand Prix in Park City.
The American freeskiing halfpipe star and Westminster College student nailed her third and final run in Firday, earning a 89.80 to top Japan's Ayana Onozuka.
Onozuka's first run of 88.80 set the pace for the day, but then Maddie used her newly-learned switch-900 trick to lead her to victory.
The X Games was Maddie's first competition after knee surgery last February, and has started the season with back-to-back gold medals.
Nineteen-year-old American Aaron Blunck later won the men's ski halfpipe final with a first run score of 94.20. Blunck is from Crescent Butte, Colo.
