William Hill opens new sportsbook inside MontBleu Resort

Just in the time for the biggest sports betting weekend of the year, MontBleu Resort on the South Shore has a new William Hill sportsbook. They had a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday to welcome customers and celebrate the new operation.

MontBleu became the latest location to offer a sportsbook operated by the international company which is based in England. There are 104 other locations in Nevada including the operations at Hard Rock Lake Tahoe.

The $300,000 remodel of the previous sportsbook at MontBleu brought in 48 large screens and rows of viewing stations with personal screens.

Besides the eight employees staffing the spot seven days a week, there is a kiosk betting station, one of 35 in the state. The kiosk allows people to bet at any time without waiting in line.

For those making a winning bet at a Lake Tahoe William Hill location, winnings can be picked up at any other Nevada location.

For the Superbowl, the sportsbook is offering over 800 different bets on their "Wagering Menu."

Some of those bets:

Broncos or Panthers receiving the opening kickoff (-110 on both)
Will there be an overtime in the game (+600 yes/-900 no)
Will Mike Tolbert score a touchdown? (+250 yes, -300 no)
Who will win the MVP? Cam Newton is the favorite at -130 with several players at 100/1.
Coin tosses, penalites, scores, yardage and more are all part of the "menu" at the sportsbook.

For those not familiar with sports betting, a -110 means that team/person/bet has a better chance to win (is favored) and one must bet $100 to win $110.00. A +900 means that isn't the favorite and one can bet $9.00 to win $10.00, or $900.00 to win $1,000.

According to David Grolman, V.P. of Operations for William Hill, the company needs the Panthers to loose to make money since all early money has been taking Cam Netwon and Carolina. As of Friday morning, the sportsbook had the Panthers favored by 5.5 points.

Founded in 1934, William Hill is the UK’s largest bookmaker with 2,400 betting shops and operates one of the of the world’s leading online betting and gaming businesses. Besides betting locations in Nevada, they also have a smart phone app for users in the state, enabling bets from phones that can be loaded with deposits made at sportsbooks or 7-11 stores.
