Casinos preparing to reopen in June with new rules

STATELINE, Nev. - Casinos in Nevada are now allowed to open once their new protocol and guidance plans are approved by the state's Gaming Control Board. Since Governor Sisolak's reopening announcement, casino properties have been putting the social distancing and safety measures in place to once again welcome guests.
Stateline redevelopment area remains intact after Douglas County Commissioners' decision

STATELINE, Nev. - Douglas County Redevelopment Area No. 2 (RDA2) at Stateline is moving forward despite a move to have it dissolved by Douglas County Commissioner Dave Nelson.
There was an overflow crowd at the commissioner's June 20 meeting at Lake Tahoe. Many of those who could not fit in the meeting room were accommodated with audio feed in the judges' chambers and the bottom floor of the parking garage.
Parent company of Harrah's Tahoe and Harveys first ever casino sponsor of NFL

Caesars Entertainment, the parent company of Lake Tahoe's Harveys and Harrah's Tahoe, has become the first-ever official casino sponsor of the National Football League (NFL).
In this multi-year deal, Caesars Entertainment will provide unique experiences for NFL fans by engaging its casino properties, celebrity chefs, premier music artists and a wide range of entertainers.

William Hill opens new sportsbook inside MontBleu Resort

Just in the time for the biggest sports betting weekend of the year, MontBleu Resort on the South Shore has a new William Hill sportsbook. They had a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday to welcome customers and celebrate the new operation.
MontBleu became the latest location to offer a sportsbook operated by the international company which is based in England. There are 104 other locations in Nevada including the operations at Hard Rock Lake Tahoe.

Snow blanketed the highest runs at Heavenly Mountain Resort over the weekend, exciting the inner skier in many. Could this be a sign of what El Nino has in store for Lake Tahoe this year?
While experts have differing opinions, the ski resorts are betting on a big snow year as they wrap up their season pass sales.
October 11 is the last day for Heavenly, Kirkwood and Northstar resort pass sales which range from $449 for the adult Tahoe Value Pass to $789 for their Epic Pass.

Nevada's sports books took in the second-biggest Super Bowl betting take ever, with $116 million wagered for Sunday's thriller won by the New England Patriots, 28-24, over the Seattle Seahawks.
From that, the sports books won $3.25 million, or 2.8 percent of the total, according to the report Monday by the State Gaming Control Board.
A year ago, bettors put down a record $119.4 million in Nevada sports books with the books the victors, winning $19.67 million after Seattle's 43-8 romp over the favored Denver Broncos.

It is January of 1985 and the Super Bowl was being held fairly close to Lake Tahoe at Stanford in Palo Alto. Due to the proximity, a group of VIPs was invited to Caesars Tahoe for a few days of pre-Super Bowl fun before flying to the game with a casino host.
