More snow in the Lake Tahoe forecast

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - As residents and businesses finish shoveling out from the snow dropped over the region this week another storm series lurks in the seven-day forecast.

A Winter Storm Watch is in place from 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 12 until 4:00 p.m. on Valentine's Day. Forecasters watching the system have made large adjustments to their prediction as the storm is coming in warmer than it first appeared with higher snow levels. Heavy snow is still possible above 7000 feet. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 10 inches, except 2 to 5 feet above 7000 feet. Winds could gust as high as 55 mph with ridge gusts possibly exceeding 145 mph.

The upcoming weekend storm at first appeared robust but it appears to have lessened in its impact at this time. More will be known as it gets closer to California.
