Tahoe Warm Room holding Open House

In their first six weeks of operation, the Tahoe Warm Room had over 60 different people usig their overnight facilities to stay out of the cold weather. Two families also stopped by to get a one-time voucher for a motel room. Over 100 volunteers have already been trained to work at the warm room.
The Tahoe Coalition for the Homeless opened the doors of the Warm Room on Friday, December 18, 2015. They have 20 cots with blankets, hot drinks and clothing for their guests.
They will be holding a public Open House on Wednesday, February 17 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The Warm Room is located at 981 Silver Dollar Avenue in South Lake Tahoe. At they Open House they will show off their facilities, introduce their staff and volunteers as well as take donations of new blankets.
