Placer County Sheriff's Office looking into double shooting in North Lake Tahoe

UPDATE 10:40 p.m. - According to the Placer County Sheriff's Office there is one confirmed fatality in tonight's shooting at the Boatworks Mall in Tahoe City.
They have identified the decedent as Octavio Villa-Villanueva, 33-years-old, of Sparks, Nevada.
Another person is in critical condition.
Both men were shot in a car. No further information is available at this time.

Two people were shot in Tahoe City Saturday night at the Boatworks Mall.
Deputies and detectives from the Placer County Sheriff's Office are investigating what was first called "an active shooter" by the North Tahoe Fire Protection District around 5:00 p.m. on February 16.
Since then they have said the Boatworks Mall was not the scene of an active shooter but confirmed it was a "double shooting."
No further information is available at this time.
