Three arrested in stabbing death of El Dorado County man

El Dorado County Sheriff's Office arrested three suspects for the murder of 55-year-old Pete Thomas.

On the evening of February 3, police found Thomas's body inside of a home in the 3200 block of Sand Ridge Road in unincorporated Placerville. Detectives and crime scene investigators examined the scene and circumstances of Thomas’ death and determined it was a homicide, said El Dorado County Sheriff’s Department spokesperson Lt. Tom Murdoch.

During their investigation, police served 17 search warrants, and on Wednesday arrested 31-year-old Nalana Nicole Omega and 22-year-old Raul Gonzalez at a home on Greenwing Lane in Placerville. They also arrested 18-year-old Roberto Barrera while at his job in a Placerville grocery store.

Murdoch says Gonzalez and Barrera are validated members of the Sureños gang.

Barrera has retained an attorney and will have a preliminary hearing on March 5. Both Gonzalez and Omega received a court appointed attorney and have the same preliminary hearing date as Barrera. A search of El Dorado County jail records shows that Barrera remains jailed in Placerville but no local jail records show the other two are still incarcerated.
