Public invited to USFS Lake Tahoe Advisory meeting

The public is invited to attend the next meeting of the Lake Tahoe Federal Advisory Committee (LTFAC) on Thursday, March 10, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the USFS offices in South Lake Tahoe.

On the agenda are issues related to federal activities in the Lake Tahoe Basin including an update to the Lake Tahoe Restoration Act, review of the environmental improvement plan and discussion on the comittee's future implementation strategy.

LTFAC consists of 20 members representing a broad array of constituencies. The Secretary of Agriculture chartered the first LTFAC in July of 1998 to advise the Federal Partnership on programs and projects within the Lake Tahoe Basin. LTFAC’s charter has been renewed every two years with the most recent renewal occurring in October 2015.

The offices of the U.S. Forest Service, Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit are located at 35 College Drive in South Lake Tahoe, Calif.

All Lake Tahoe Federal Advisory Committee meetings are open to the public. Interested citizens are encouraged to attend.

Issues may be brought to the attention of the committee during the open public comment period at the meeting, or by filing a written statement with the committee through Karen Kuentz, USDA-Forest Service, Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit, 35 College Drive, South Lake Tahoe, CA, 96150.
