The recently approved Tahoe Regional Plan Update and a Forest Plan Revision status update are among a host issues related to federal activities to be discussed at the Jan. 10 meeting of the Lake Tahoe Federal Advisory Committee. The meeting will be held from 9 a.m. until noon at the Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit, 35 College Drive, South Lake Tahoe, Calif.
Other agenda items include an update on Tahoe Interagency Executive Steering Committee activities and public comment. Members of the public interested in finding out more about the LTFAC are welcome to attend this meeting.
The federal advisory committee is made up of 20 members who represent a broad array of constituencies. The Secretary of Agriculture chartered the first LTFAC in July 1998 to advise the Federal Partnership on programs and projects within the Lake Tahoe Basin.
LTFAC’s charter has been renewed every two years with the most recent renewal occurring in February 2011. All Lake Tahoe Federal Advisory Committee meetings are open to the public.
Interested citizens are encouraged to attend. Issues may be brought to the attention of the committee during the open public comment period at the meeting, or by filing a written statement with the committee through Arla Hains, USDA Forest Service, Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit, 35 College Drive, South Lake Tahoe, Calif., 96150. Requests for reasonable accommodation for access to the facility or proceedings may be made by contacting Arla Hains at ashains@fs.fed.us.
