LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The USDA Forest Service Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit (LTBMU) is seeking public comments for the annual California Department of Parks and Recreation, Off-Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation (OHMVR) Division grant application. The OHMVR application requests funding for trail maintenance, and operation of facilities for off-highway vehicle (OHV) access in the Lake Tahoe Basin. The 60-day grant application comment period ends Monday, May 6.
“The LTBMU relies on partnerships and funding opportunities like this to continue providing safe and sustainable OHV recreation opportunities on public lands,” said LTBMU Trails Program Coordinator, Jacob Quinn. “I encourage any interested parties to review this application and provide comment on the state website, or to contact me directly to discuss how this grant opportunity supports critical functions of the LTBMU OHV program.”
When finalized, the grants will be available for public review and comment on the State of California’s website at http://ohv.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=1164. During the public review and comment period, public input can be submitted online using the State of California electronic forms, or by contacting the LTBMU directly.
Questions, comments or letters may be directed to Jacob Quinn, USDA Forest Service Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit, 35 College Drive, South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150.
For more information on the application, grant process or how to comment, contact Jacob Quinn at 530-543-2609 or email jmquinn@fs.fed.us.
